1. | Haa Meeem | Ha-Mim. | حم | |
|
2. | Wal Kitaabil Mubeen | By the Book that makes things clear;- | وَالْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ | |
|
3. | Innaaa anzalnaahu fee lailatim mubaarakah; innaa kunnaa munzireen | We sent it down during a Blessed Night: for We (ever) wish to warn (against Evil). | إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ مُبَارَكَةٍ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُنْذِرِينَ | |

4. | Feehaa yufraqu kullu amrin hakeem | In the (Night) is made distinct every affair of wisdom, | فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ | |
|
5. | Amram min 'indinaaa; innaa kunnaa mursileen | By command, from Our Presence. For We (ever) send (revelations), | أَمْرًا مِنْ عِنْدِنَا ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ | |
|
6. | Rahmatam mir rabbik; innahoo Huwas Samee'ul 'Aleem | As Mercy from thy Lord: for He hears and knows (all things); | رَحْمَةً مِنْ رَبِّكَ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ | |

7. | Rabbis samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa; in kuntum mooqineen | The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all between them, if ye (but) have an assured faith. | رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُوقِنِينَ | |
|
8. | Laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa yuhyee wa yumeetu Rabbukum wa Rabbu aabaaa'ikumul awwaleen | There is no god but He: It is He Who gives life and gives death,- The Lord and Cherisher to you and your earliest ancestors. | لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ۖ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ آبَائِكُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ | |

9. | Bal hum fee shakkiny yal'aboon | Yet they play about in doubt. | بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ | |
|
10. | Fartaqib Yawma ta'tis samaaa'u bi dukhaanin mubeen | Then watch thou for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke (or mist) plainly visible, | فَارْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِي السَّمَاءُ بِدُخَانٍ مُبِينٍ | |

11. | Yaghshan naasa haazaa 'azaabun aleem | Enveloping the people: this will be a Penalty Grievous. | يَغْشَى النَّاسَ ۖ هَٰذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ | |
|
12. | Rabbanak shif 'annal 'azaaba innaa mu'minoon | (They will say:) "Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us, for we do really believe!" | رَبَّنَا اكْشِفْ عَنَّا الْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ | |
|
13. | Annaa lahumuz zikraa wa qad jaaa'ahum Rasoolum mubeen | How shall the message be (effectual) for them, seeing that a Messenger explaining things clearly has (already) come to them,- | أَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ الذِّكْرَىٰ وَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مُبِينٌ | |

14. | Summaa tawallaw 'anhu wa qaaloo mu'allamum majnoon | Yet they turn away from him and say: "Tutored (by others), a man possessed!" | ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا مُعَلَّمٌ مَجْنُونٌ | |

15. | Innaa kaashiful 'azaabi qaleelaa; innakum 'aaa'idoon | We shall indeed remove the Penalty for a while, (but) truly ye will revert (to your ways). | إِنَّا كَاشِفُو الْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا ۚ إِنَّكُمْ عَائِدُونَ | |

16. | Yawma nabtishul batsha tal kubraa innaa muntaqimoon | One day We shall seize you with a mighty onslaught: We will indeed (then) exact Retribution! | يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ الْبَطْشَةَ الْكُبْرَىٰ إِنَّا مُنْتَقِمُونَ | |
|
17. | Wa laqad fatannaa qablahum qawma Fir'awna wa jaaa'ahum Rasoolun kareem | We did, before them, try the people of Pharaoh: there came to them a messenger most honourable, | وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ | |
|
18. | An addooo ilaiya 'ibaadal laahi innee lakum Rasoolun ameen | Saying: "Restore to me the Servants of Allah: I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust; | أَنْ أَدُّوا إِلَيَّ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ | |
|
19. | Wa al laa ta'loo 'alal laahi innee aateekum bisultaanim mubeen | "And be not arrogant as against Allah: for I come to you with authority manifest. | وَأَنْ لَا تَعْلُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّي آتِيكُمْ بِسُلْطَانٍ مُبِينٍ | |
|
20. | Wa innee 'uztu bi Rabbee wa rabbikum an tarjumoon | "For me, I have sought safety with my Lord and your Lord, against your injuring me. | وَإِنِّي عُذْتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمْ أَنْ تَرْجُمُونِ | |
|
21. | Wa il lam tu'minoo lee fa'taziloon | "If ye believe me not, at least keep yourselves away from me." | وَإِنْ لَمْ تُؤْمِنُوا لِي فَاعْتَزِلُونِ | |
|
22. | Fada'aa rabbahooo anna haaa'ulaaa'i qawmum mujrimoon | (But they were aggressive:) then he cried to his Lord: "These are indeed a people given to sin." | فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ قَوْمٌ مُجْرِمُونَ | |
|
23. | Fa asri bi'ibaadee lailan innakum muttaba'oon | (The reply came:) "March forth with My Servants by night: for ye are sure to be pursued. | فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِي لَيْلًا إِنَّكُمْ مُتَّبَعُونَ | |
|
24. | Watrukil bahra rahwan innahum jundum mughraqoon | "And leave the sea as a furrow (divided): for they are a host (destined) to be drowned." | وَاتْرُكِ الْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ جُنْدٌ مُغْرَقُونَ | |

25. | Kam tarakoo min jannaatinw wa 'uyoon | How many were the gardens and springs they left behind, | كَمْ تَرَكُوا مِنْ جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ | |
|
26. | Wa zuroo'inw wa maqaa min kareem | And corn-fields and noble buildings, | وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ | |
|
27. | Wa na'matin kaanoo feehaa faakiheen | And wealth (and conveniences of life), wherein they had taken such delight! | وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا فِيهَا فَاكِهِينَ | |
|
28. | Kazaalika wa awrasnaahaa qawman aakhareen | Thus (was their end)! And We made other people inherit (those things)! | كَذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَأَوْرَثْنَاهَا قَوْمًا آخَرِينَ | |
|
29. | Famaa bakat 'alaihimus samaaa'u wal ardu wa maa kaanoo munzareen | And neither heaven nor earth shed a tear over them: nor were they given a respite (again). | فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّمَاءُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا مُنْظَرِينَ | |

30. | Wa laqad najjainaa Baneee Israaa'eela minal'azaabil muheen | We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, | وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ الْمُهِينِ | |
|
31. | Min Fir'awn; innahoo kaana 'aaliyam minal musrifeen | Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. | مِنْ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ عَالِيًا مِنَ الْمُسْرِفِينَ | |
|
32. | Wa laqadikh tarnaahum 'alaa 'ilmin 'alal 'aalameen | And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, | وَلَقَدِ اخْتَرْنَاهُمْ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ | |

33. | Wa aatainaahum minal aayaati maa feehi balaaa'um mubeen | And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial | وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ مِنَ الْآيَاتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَاءٌ مُبِينٌ | |
|
34. | Inna haaa'ulaaa'i la yaqooloon | As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: | إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ لَيَقُولُونَ | |
|
35. | In hiya illaa mawtatunal oolaa wa maa nahnu bimun shareen | "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. | إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا الْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنْشَرِينَ | |

36. | Fa'too bi aabaaa'inaaa inkuntum saadiqeen | "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" | فَأْتُوا بِآبَائِنَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ | |
|
37. | Ahum khayrun am qawmu Tubba'inw wallazeena min qablihim; ahlaknaahum innahum kaanoo mujrimeen | What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. | أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَالَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا مُجْرِمِينَ | |
|
38. | Wa maa khalaqnas samaawaati wal arda wa maa baina humaa laa'ibeen | We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: | وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ | |

39. | Maa khalaqnaahumaaa illaa bilhaqqi wa laakinna aksarahum laa ya'lamoon | We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. | مَا خَلَقْنَاهُمَا إِلَّا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ | |

40. | Inna yawmal fasli meeqaatuhum ajma'een | Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- | إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ مِيقَاتُهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ | |
|
41. | Yawma laa yughnee mawlan 'am mawlan shai'anw wa laa hum yunsaroon | The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, | يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِي مَوْلًى عَنْ مَوْلًى شَيْئًا وَلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ | |
|
42. | Illaa mar rahimal laah' innahoo huwal 'azeezur raheem | Except such as receive Allah´s Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. | إِلَّا مَنْ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ | |

43. | Inna shajarataz zaqqoom | Verily the tree of Zaqqum | إِنَّ شَجَرَتَ الزَّقُّومِ | |
|
44. | Ta'aamul aseem | Will be the food of the Sinful,- | طَعَامُ الْأَثِيمِ | |
|
45. | Kalmuhli yaghlee filbutoon | Like molten brass; it will boil in their insides. | كَالْمُهْلِ يَغْلِي فِي الْبُطُونِ | |
|
46. | Kaghalyil hameem | Like the boiling of scalding water. | كَغَلْيِ الْحَمِيمِ | |
|
47. | Khuzoohu fa'tiloohu ilaa sawaaa'il Jaheem | (A voice will cry: "Seize ye him and drag him into the midst of the Blazing Fire! | خُذُوهُ فَاعْتِلُوهُ إِلَىٰ سَوَاءِ الْجَحِيمِ | |
|
48. | Summa subboo fawqa ra'sihee min 'azaabil hameem | "Then pour over his head the Penalty of Boiling Water, | ثُمَّ صُبُّوا فَوْقَ رَأْسِهِ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْحَمِيمِ | |
|
49. | Zuq innaka antal 'azeezul kareem | "Taste thou (this)! Truly wast thou mighty, full of honour! | ذُقْ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْكَرِيمُ | |
|
50. | Inna haazaa maa kuntum bihee tamtaroon | "Truly this is what ye used to doubt!" | إِنَّ هَٰذَا مَا كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تَمْتَرُونَ | |
|
51. | Innal muttaqeena fee maqaamin ameen | As to the Righteous (they will be) in a position of Security, | إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي مَقَامٍ أَمِينٍ | |
|
52. | Fee jannaatinw wa 'uyoon | Among Gardens and Springs; | فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ | |
|
53. | Yalbasoona min sundusinw wa istabraqim mutaqaabileen | Dressed in fine silk and in rich brocade, they will face each other; | يَلْبَسُونَ مِنْ سُنْدُسٍ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٍ مُتَقَابِلِينَ | |
|
54. | Kazaalika wa zawwajnaahum bihoorin 'een | So; and We shall join them to fair women with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes. | كَذَٰلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُمْ بِحُورٍ عِينٍ | |
|
55. | Yad'oona feehaa bikulli faakihatin aamineen | There can they call for every kind of fruit in peace and security; | يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ آمِنِينَ | |
|
56. | Laa yazooqoona feehal mawtaa illal mawtatal oolaa wa waqaahum 'azaabal jaheem | Nor will they there taste Death, except the first death; and He will preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire,- | لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا الْمَوْتَ إِلَّا الْمَوْتَةَ الْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَوَقَاهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ | |

57. | Fadlam mir rabbik; zaalika huwal fawzul 'azeem | As a Bounty from thy Lord! that will be the supreme achievement! | فَضْلًا مِنْ رَبِّكَ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ | |
|
58. | Fa innamaa yassarnaahu bilisaanika la'allahum yatazakkaroon | Verily, We have made this (Qur´an) easy, in thy tongue, in order that they may give heed. | فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَاهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ | |

59. | Fartaqib innahum murta qiboon | So wait thou and watch; for they (too) are waiting. | فَارْتَقِبْ إِنَّهُمْ مُرْتَقِبُونَ | |
