1. | Saaad; wal-Qur-aani ziz zikr | Sad: By the Qur´an, Full of Admonition: (This is the Truth). | ص ۚ وَالْقُرْآنِ ذِي الذِّكْرِ | |
|
2. | Balil lazeena kafaroo fee 'izzatinw wa shiqaaq | But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. | بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي عِزَّةٍ وَشِقَاقٍ | |
|
3. | Kam ahlaknaa min qablihim min qarnin fanaadaw wa laata heena manaas | How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! | كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ فَنَادَوْا وَلَاتَ حِينَ مَنَاصٍ | |

4. | Wa 'ajibooo an jaaa'a hum munzirum minhum wa qaalal kaafiroona haazaa saahirun kazzaab | So they wonder that a Warner has come to them from among themselves! and the Unbelievers say, "This is a sorcerer telling lies! | وَعَجِبُوا أَنْ جَاءَهُمْ مُنْذِرٌ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَٰذَا سَاحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ | |

5. | Aja'alal aalihata Ilaahanw Waahidan inna haazaa lashai'un 'ujaab | "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!" | أَجَعَلَ الْآلِهَةَ إِلَٰهًا وَاحِدًا ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَيْءٌ عُجَابٌ | |

6. | Wantalaqal mala-u minhum anim shoo wasbiroo 'alaaa aalihatikum innna haazaa lashai 'uny yuraad | And the leader among them go away (impatiently), (saying), "Walk ye away, and remain constant to your gods! For this is truly a thing designed (against you)! | وَانْطَلَقَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْهُمْ أَنِ امْشُوا وَاصْبِرُوا عَلَىٰ آلِهَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَيْءٌ يُرَادُ | |
|
7. | Maa sami'naa bihaazaa fil millatil aakhirati in haazaaa illakh tilaaq | "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!" | مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِي الْمِلَّةِ الْآخِرَةِ إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا اخْتِلَاقٌ | |
|
8. | 'A-unzila 'alaihiz zikru min baininaa; bal hum fee shakkin min Zikree bal lammaa yazooqoo 'azaab | "What! has the Message been sent to him - (Of all persons) among us?"...but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment! | أَأُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ مِنْ بَيْنِنَا ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِنْ ذِكْرِي ۖ بَلْ لَمَّا يَذُوقُوا عَذَابِ | |
|
9. | Am'indahum khazaaa 'inu rahmati Rabbikal 'Azeezil Wahhab | Or have they the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord,- the Exalted in Power, the Grantor of Bounties without measure? | أَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ الْعَزِيزِ الْوَهَّابِ | |
|
10. | Am lahum mulkus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa falyartaqoo fil asbaab | Or have they the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all between? If so, let them mount up with the ropes and means (to reach that end)! | أَمْ لَهُمْ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَلْيَرْتَقُوا فِي الْأَسْبَابِ | |

11. | Jundum maa hunaalika mahzoomum minal Ahzaab | But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates. | جُنْدٌ مَا هُنَالِكَ مَهْزُومٌ مِنَ الْأَحْزَابِ | |
|
12. | Kazzabat qablahum qawmu Noohinw wa 'Aadunw wa Fir'awnu zul awtaad | Before them (were many who) rejected messengers,- the people of Noah, and ´Ad, and Pharaoh, the Lord of Stakes, | كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ ذُو الْأَوْتَادِ | |
|
13. | Wa Samoodu wa qawmu Lootinw wa Ashaabul 'Aykah; ulaaa'ikal Ahzaab | And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates. | وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ الْأَحْزَابُ | |
|
14. | In kullun illaa kazzabar Rusula fahaqqa 'iqaab (section 1) | Not one (of them) but rejected the messengers, but My punishment came justly and inevitably (on them). | إِنْ كُلٌّ إِلَّا كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقَابِ | |
|
15. | Wa maa yanzuru haaa ulaaa'i illaa saihatanw waahidatam maa lahaa min fawaaq | These (today) only wait for a single mighty Blast, which (when it comes) will brook no delay. | وَمَا يَنْظُرُ هَٰؤُلَاءِ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً مَا لَهَا مِنْ فَوَاقٍ | |
|
16. | Wa qaaloo Rabbanaa 'ajjil lanaa qittanaa qabla Yawmil Hisaab | They say: "Our Lord! hasten to us our sentence (even) before the Day of Account!" | وَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا عَجِّلْ لَنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ | |
|
17. | Isbir 'alaa maa yaqooloona wazkur 'abdanaa Daawooda zal aidi innahooo awwaab | Have patience at what they say, and remember our servant David, the man of strength: for he ever turned (to Allah). | اصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُودَ ذَا الْأَيْدِ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ | |
|
18. | Innaa sakhkharnal jibaala ma'ahoo yusabbihna bil'ashiyyi wal ishraaq | It was We that made the hills declare, in unison with him, Our Praises, at eventide and at break of day, | إِنَّا سَخَّرْنَا الْجِبَالَ مَعَهُ يُسَبِّحْنَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْإِشْرَاقِ | |
|
19. | Wattayra mahshoorah; kullul lahooo awwaab | And the birds gathered (in assemblies): all with him did turn (to Allah). | وَالطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَةً ۖ كُلٌّ لَهُ أَوَّابٌ | |
|
20. | Wa shadadnaa mulkahoo wa aatainaahul Hikmata wa faslal khitaab | We strengthened his kingdom, and gave him wisdom and sound judgment in speech and decision. | وَشَدَدْنَا مُلْكَهُ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْحِكْمَةَ وَفَصْلَ الْخِطَابِ | |
|
21. | Wa hal ataaka naba'ul khasm; iz tasawwarul mihraab | Has the Story of the Disputants reached thee? Behold, they climbed over the wall of the private chamber; | وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ نَبَأُ الْخَصْمِ إِذْ تَسَوَّرُوا الْمِحْرَابَ | |
|
22. | Iz dakhaloo 'alaa Daawooda fafazi'a minhum qaaloo laa takhaf khasmaani baghaa ba'dunaa 'alaa ba'din fahkum bainanaaa bilhaqqi wa laa tushtit wahdinaaa ilaa Sawaaa'is Siraat | When they entered the presence of David, and he was terrified of them, they said: "Fear not: we are two disputants, one of whom has wronged the other: Decide now between us with truth, and treat us not with injustice, but guide us to the even Path.. | إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَىٰ دَاوُودَ فَفَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ ۖ قَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ ۖ خَصْمَانِ بَغَىٰ بَعْضُنَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تُشْطِطْ وَاهْدِنَا إِلَىٰ سَوَاءِ الصِّرَاطِ | |
|
23. | Inna haazaaa akhee lahoo tis'unw wa tis'oona na'jatanw wa liya na'jatunw waahidah; faqaala akfilneeha wa 'azzanee filkhitaab | "This man is my brother: He has nine and ninety ewes, and I have (but) one: Yet he says, ´commit her to my care,´ and is (moreover) harsh to me in speech." | إِنَّ هَٰذَا أَخِي لَهُ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ نَعْجَةً وَلِيَ نَعْجَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ فَقَالَ أَكْفِلْنِيهَا وَعَزَّنِي فِي الْخِطَابِ | |
|
24. | Qaala laqad zalamaka bisu 'aali na'jatika ilaa ni'aajih; wa inna kaseeran minal khulataaa'i la-yabghee ba'duhum 'alaa ba'din illal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati wa qaleelun maa hum; wa zanna Daawoodu annamaa fatannaahu fastaghfara Rabbahoo wa kharra raaki'anw wa anaab (make sajdah) | (David) said: "He has undoubtedly wronged thee in demanding thy (single) ewe to be added to his (flock of) ewes: truly many are the partners (in business) who wrong each other: Not so do those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, and how few are they?"...and David gathered that We had tried him: he asked forgiveness of his Lord, fell down, bowing (in prostration), and turned (to Allah in repentance). | قَالَ لَقَدْ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعْجَتِكَ إِلَىٰ نِعَاجِهِ ۖ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنَ الْخُلَطَاءِ لَيَبْغِي بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَقَلِيلٌ مَا هُمْ ۗ وَظَنَّ دَاوُودُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّاهُ فَاسْتَغْفَرَ رَبَّهُ وَخَرَّ رَاكِعًا وَأَنَابَ ۩ | |
|
25. | Faghafarnaa lahoo zaalik; wa inna lahoo 'indanaa lazulfaa wa husna ma aab | So We forgave him this (lapse): he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful place of (Final) Return. | فَغَفَرْنَا لَهُ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِنْدَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ | |

26. | Yaa Daawoodu innaa ja'alnaaka khaleefatan fil ardi fahkum bainan naasi bilhaqqi wa laa tattabi'il hawaa fayudillaka 'an sabeelil laah; innal lazeena yadilloona 'an sabeelil laah; lahum 'azaabun shadeedum bimaa nasoo Yawmal Hisaab (section 2) | O David! We did indeed make thee a vicegerent on earth: so judge thou between men in truth (and justice): Nor follow thou the lusts (of thy heart), for they will mislead thee from the Path of Allah: for those who wander astray from the Path of Allah, is a Penalty Grievous, for that they forget the Day of Account. | يَا دَاوُودُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاكَ خَلِيفَةً فِي الْأَرْضِ فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعِ الْهَوَىٰ فَيُضِلَّكَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ بِمَا نَسُوا يَوْمَ الْحِسَابِ | |
|
27. | Wa maa khalaqnas samaaa'a wal arda wa maa bainahumaa baatilaa; zaalika zannul lazeena kafaroo; fa waylul lil lazeena kafaroo minan Naar | Not without purpose did We create heaven and earth and all between! that were the thought of Unbelievers! but woe to the Unbelievers because of the Fire (of Hell)! | وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاءَ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَاطِلًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ظَنُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ۚ فَوَيْلٌ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنَ النَّارِ | |
|
28. | Am naj'alul lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati kalmufisdeena fil ardi am naj'alul muttaqeena kalfujjaar | Shall We treat those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, the same as those who do mischief on earth? Shall We treat those who guard against evil, the same as those who turn aside from the right? | أَمْ نَجْعَلُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ كَالْمُفْسِدِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَمْ نَجْعَلُ الْمُتَّقِينَ كَالْفُجَّارِ | |
|
29. | Kitaabun anzalnaahu ilaika mubaarakul liyaddabbarooo Aayaatihee wa liyatazakkara ulul albaab | (Here is) a Book which We have sent down unto thee, full of blessings, that they may mediate on its Signs, and that men of understanding may receive admonition. | كِتَابٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ | |
|
30. | Wa wahabnaa li Daawooda Sulaimaan; ni'mal 'abd; innahoo awwaab | To David We gave Solomon (for a son),- How excellent in Our service! Ever did he turn (to Us)! | وَوَهَبْنَا لِدَاوُودَ سُلَيْمَانَ ۚ نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ | |
|
31. | Iz 'urida 'alaihi bil'ashiy yis saafinaatul jiyaad | Behold, there were brought before him, at eventide coursers of the highest breeding, and swift of foot; | إِذْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِالْعَشِيِّ الصَّافِنَاتُ الْجِيَادُ | |
|
32. | Faqaala inneee ahbabtu hubbal khairi 'an zikri Rabbee hattaa tawaarat bilhijaab | And he said, "Truly do I love the love of good, with a view to the glory of my Lord,"- until (the sun) was hidden in the veil (of night): | فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَحْبَبْتُ حُبَّ الْخَيْرِ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّي حَتَّىٰ تَوَارَتْ بِالْحِجَابِ | |
|
33. | Ruddoohaa 'alaiya fa tafiqa mas-ham bissooqi wal a'naaq | "Bring them back to me." then began he to pass his hand over (their) legs and their necks. | رُدُّوهَا عَلَيَّ ۖ فَطَفِقَ مَسْحًا بِالسُّوقِ وَالْأَعْنَاقِ | |
|
34. | Wa laqad fatannaa Sulaimaana wa alqainaa 'alaa kursiyyihee jasadan summa anaab | And We did try Solomon: We placed on his throne a body (without life); but he did turn (to Us in true devotion): | وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَانَ وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَىٰ كُرْسِيِّهِ جَسَدًا ثُمَّ أَنَابَ | |
|
35. | Qaala Rabbigh fir lee wa hab lee mulkal laa yambaghee li ahadin min ba'dee innaka Antal Wahhaab | He said, "O my Lord! Forgive me, and grant me a kingdom which, (it may be), suits not another after me: for Thou art the Grantor of Bounties (without measure). | قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَهَبْ لِي مُلْكًا لَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ بَعْدِي ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ | |
|
36. | Fa sakharnaa lahur reeha tajree bi amrihee rukhaaa'an haisu asaab | Then We subjected the wind to his power, to flow gently to his order, Whithersoever he willed,- | فَسَخَّرْنَا لَهُ الرِّيحَ تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ رُخَاءً حَيْثُ أَصَابَ | |
|
37. | Wash Shayaateena kulla bannaaa'inw wa ghawwaas | As also the evil ones, (including) every kind of builder and diver,- | وَالشَّيَاطِينَ كُلَّ بَنَّاءٍ وَغَوَّاصٍ | |
|
38. | Wa aakhareena muqarraneena fil asfaad | As also others bound together in fetters. | وَآخَرِينَ مُقَرَّنِينَ فِي الْأَصْفَادِ | |
|
39. | Haazaa 'ataaa'unaa famnun aw amsik bighairi hisaab | "Such are Our Bounties: whether thou bestow them (on others) or withhold them, no account will be asked." | هَٰذَا عَطَاؤُنَا فَامْنُنْ أَوْ أَمْسِكْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ | |
|
40. | Wa inna lahoo 'indanaa lazulfaa wa husna ma-aab (section 3) | And he enjoyed, indeed, a Near Approach to Us, and a beautiful Place of (Final) Return. | وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِنْدَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ | |
|
41. | Wazkur 'abdanaaa Ayyoob; iz naada Rabbahooo annee massaniyash Shaitaanu bi nusbinw wa 'azaab | Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" | وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا أَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الشَّيْطَانُ بِنُصْبٍ وَعَذَابٍ | |
|
42. | Urkud bi rijlika haaza mughtasalun baaridunw wa sharaab | (The command was given:) "Strike with thy foot: here is (water) wherein to wash, cool and refreshing, and (water) to drink." | ارْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ ۖ هَٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌ بَارِدٌ وَشَرَابٌ | |
|
43. | Wa wahabnaa lahoo ahlahoo wa mislahum ma'ahum rahmatan minna wa zikraa li ulil albaab | And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding. | وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُمْ مَعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِنَّا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ | |
|
44. | Wa khuz biyadika dighsan fadrib bihee wa laa tahnas, innaa wajadnaahu saabiraa; ni'mal 'abd; innahooo awwaab | "And take in thy hand a little grass, and strike therewith: and break not (thy oath)." Truly We found him full of patience and constancy. How excellent in Our service! ever did he turn (to Us)! | وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثًا فَاضْرِبْ بِهِ وَلَا تَحْنَثْ ۗ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَاهُ صَابِرًا ۚ نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ | |
|
45. | Wazkur 'ibaadanaaa Ibraaheema wa Is-haaqa wa Ya'qooba ulil-aydee walabsaar | And commemorate Our Servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, possessors of Power and Vision. | وَاذْكُرْ عِبَادَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ أُولِي الْأَيْدِي وَالْأَبْصَارِ | |
|
46. | Innaaa akhlasnaahum bi khaalisatin zikrad daar | Verily We did choose them for a special (purpose)- proclaiming the Message of the Hereafter. | إِنَّا أَخْلَصْنَاهُمْ بِخَالِصَةٍ ذِكْرَى الدَّارِ | |
|
47. | Wa innahum 'indanaa laminal mustafainal akhyaar | They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good. | وَإِنَّهُمْ عِنْدَنَا لَمِنَ الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ الْأَخْيَارِ | |
|
48. | Wazkur Ismaa'eela wal Yasa'a wa Zal-Kifli wa kullun minal akhyaar | And commemorate Isma´il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good. | وَاذْكُرْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَالْيَسَعَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ ۖ وَكُلٌّ مِنَ الْأَخْيَارِ | |
|
49. | Haazaa zikrun wa inna lil muttaqeena la husna ma aab | This is a Message (of admonition): and verily, for the righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final) Return,- | هَٰذَا ذِكْرٌ ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ لَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ | |
|
50. | Jannaati 'adnin mufattahatan lahumul abwaab | Gardens of Eternity, whose doors will (ever) be open to them; | جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ مُفَتَّحَةً لَهُمُ الْأَبْوَابُ | |
|
51. | Muttaki'eena feehaa yad'oona feehaa bifaakihatin kaseeratinw wa sharaab | Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink; | مُتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ وَشَرَابٍ | |
|
52. | Wa 'indahum qaasiraatut tarfi atraab | And beside them will be chaste women restraining their glances, (companions) of equal age. | وَعِنْدَهُمْ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ أَتْرَابٌ | |
|
53. | Haazaa maa too'adoona li Yawmil Hisaab | Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! | هَٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِيَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ | |
|
54. | Inna haazaa larizqunaa maa lahoo min nafaad | Truly such will be Our Bounty (to you); it will never fail;- | إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَرِزْقُنَا مَا لَهُ مِنْ نَفَادٍ | |
|
55. | Haazaa; wa inna littaagheena lasharra ma-aab | Yea, such! but - for the wrong-doers will be an evil place of (Final) Return!- | هَٰذَا ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلطَّاغِينَ لَشَرَّ مَآبٍ | |
|
56. | Jahannama yaslawnahaa fa bi'sal mihaad | Hell!- they will burn therein, - an evil bed (indeed, to lie on)!- | جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا فَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ | |
|
57. | Haazaa falyazooqoohu hameemunw wa ghassaaq | Yea, such! - then shall they taste it,- a boiling fluid, and a fluid dark, murky, intensely cold!- | هَٰذَا فَلْيَذُوقُوهُ حَمِيمٌ وَغَسَّاقٌ | |
|
58. | Wa aakharu min shakliheee azwaaj | And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them! | وَآخَرُ مِنْ شَكْلِهِ أَزْوَاجٌ | |
|
59. | Haazaa fawjun muqtahimun ma'akum laa marhaban bihim; innahum saalun Naar | Here is a troop rushing headlong with you! No welcome for them! truly, they shall burn in the Fire! | هَٰذَا فَوْجٌ مُقْتَحِمٌ مَعَكُمْ ۖ لَا مَرْحَبًا بِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ صَالُو النَّارِ | |
|
60. | Qaaloo bal antum laa marhaban bikum; antum qaddamtumoohu lanaa fabi'sal qaraar | (The followers shall cry to the misleaders:) "Nay, ye (too)! No welcome for you! It is ye who have brought this upon us! Now evil is (this) place to stay in!" | قَالُوا بَلْ أَنْتُمْ لَا مَرْحَبًا بِكُمْ ۖ أَنْتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ لَنَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ | |

61. | Qaaloo Rabbanaa man qaddama lanaa haazaa fa zidhu 'azaaban di'fan fin Naar | They will say: "Our Lord! whoever brought this upon us,- Add to him a double Penalty in the Fire!" | قَالُوا رَبَّنَا مَنْ قَدَّمَ لَنَا هَٰذَا فَزِدْهُ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا فِي النَّارِ | |
|
62. | Wa qaaloo maa lanaa laa naraa rijaalan kunnaa na'udduhum minal ashraar | And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? | وَقَالُوا مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُمْ مِنَ الْأَشْرَارِ | |
|
63. | Attakhaznaahum sikh riyyan am zaaghat 'anhumul absaar | "Did we treat them (as such) in ridicule, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" | أَتَّخَذْنَاهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ الْأَبْصَارُ | |
|
64. | Inna zaalika lahaqqun takhaasumu Ahlin Naar (section 4) | Truly that is just and fitting,- the mutual recriminations of the People of the Fire! | إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ | |
|
65. | Qul innamaaa ana munzirunw wa maa min laahin illal laahul Waahidul Qahhaar | Say: "Truly am I a Warner: no god is there but the one Allah, Supreme and Irresistible,- | قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا مُنْذِرٌ ۖ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ | |
|
66. | Rabbus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumal 'Azeezul Ghaffaar | "The Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- Exalted in Might, able to enforce His Will, forgiving again and again." | رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفَّارُ | |
|
67. | Qul huwa naba'un 'azeem | Say: "That is a Message Supreme (above all),- | قُلْ هُوَ نَبَأٌ عَظِيمٌ | |
|
68. | Antum 'anhu mu'ridoon | "From which ye do turn away! | أَنْتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُونَ | |
|
69. | Maa kaana liya min 'ilmin bil mala'il a'laaa iz yakhtasimoon | "No knowledge have I of the Chiefs on high, when they discuss (matters) among themselves. | مَا كَانَ لِيَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ بِالْمَلَإِ الْأَعْلَىٰ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ | |
|
70. | Iny-yoohaaa ilaiya illaaa anna maaa ana nazeerun mubeen | ´Only this has been revealed to me: that I am to give warning plainly and publicly." | إِنْ يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ إِلَّا أَنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ | |

71. | Iz qaala Rabbuka lilmalaaa'ikati innee khaaliqun basharan min teen | Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man from clay: | إِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِقٌ بَشَرًا مِنْ طِينٍ | |
|
72. | Fa-iza sawwaituhoo wa nafakhtu feehi mir roohee faqa'oo lahoo saajideen | "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." | فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِنْ رُوحِي فَقَعُوا لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ | |
|
73. | Fasajadal malaaa'ikatu kulluhum ajma'oon | So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: | فَسَجَدَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ | |
|
74. | Illaaa Iblees; stakbara wa kaana minal kaafireen | Not so Iblis: he was haughty, and became one of those who reject Faith. | إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ اسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ | |
|
75. | Qaala yaaa Ibleesu maa mana'aka an tasjuda limaa khalaqtu bi yadaiya 'a stakbarta am kunta min al 'aaleen | (Allah) said: "O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?" | قَالَ يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ ۖ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الْعَالِينَ | |
|
76. | Qaala ana khairum minhu; khalaqtanee min naarinw wa khalaqtahoo min teen | (Iblis) said: "I am better than he: thou createdst me from fire, and him thou createdst from clay." | قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ ۖ خَلَقْتَنِي مِنْ نَارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِنْ طِينٍ | |
|
77. | Qaala fakhruj minhaa fa innaka rajeem | (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here: for thou art rejected, accursed. | قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ | |
|
78. | Wa inna 'alaika la'nateee ilaa Yawmid Deen | "And My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Judgment." | وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ | |
|
79. | Qaala Rabbi fa anzirneee ilaa Yawmi yub'asoon | (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." | قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنْظِرْنِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ | |
|
80. | Qaala fa innaka minal munzareen | (Allah) said: "Respite then is granted thee- | قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنْظَرِينَ | |
|
81. | Ilaa Yawmil waqtil ma'loom | "Till the Day of the Time Appointed." | إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ | |
|
82. | Qaala fa bi 'izzatika la ughwiyannahum ajma'een | (Iblis) said: "Then, by Thy power, I will put them all in the wrong,- | قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ | |
|
83. | Illaa 'ibaadaka minhumul mukhlaseen | "Except Thy Servants amongst them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." | إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ | |
|
84. | Qaala falhaqq, walhaqqa aqool | (Allah) said: "Then it is just and fitting- and I say what is just and fitting- | قَالَ فَالْحَقُّ وَالْحَقَّ أَقُولُ | |
|
85. | La amla'anna Jahannama minka wa mimman tabi'aka minhum ajma'een | "That I will certainly fill Hell with thee and those that follow thee,- every one." | لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنْكَ وَمِمَّنْ تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ | |
|
86. | Qul maaa as'alukum 'alaihi min ajrinw wa maaa ana minal mutakallifeen | Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur´an), nor am I a pretender. | قُلْ مَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ | |
|
87. | In huwa illaa zikrul lil'aalameen | "This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds. | إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَ | |
|
88. | Wa lata'lamunna naba ahoo ba'da heen (section 5) | "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while." | وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ نَبَأَهُ بَعْدَ حِينٍ | |
|
